We, Niko and Mathias, are both classically educated Cellists who enjoy producing, and composing tracks for 2 Cellos and electronic music. We're currently working on a music video to a new track called "Silent Woods" and will keep you posted on the progress. Mathias Johansen | The young cellist Mathias Johansen, has won several national and international prizes and is scholar at various renowned foundations. He has had the privileged opportunities of participating in many master classes with international renowned Cellists, amongst them being: Natalia Gutman and David Geringas. He studied with Wen-Sinn Yang, Troels Svane and Frans Helmerson. The past few years he has performed in some of the greatest concert halls of Germany amongst them the Laeiszhalle Hamburg (2009), the Philharmonic Hall Berlin (2010) and the Philharmonic Hall Munich (2008). He has also been invited to several Chamber Music Festivals like the Podum Festival Esslingen, the Podium Festival Iceland, the Styrian Chamber Music Festival, or the Zeitkunstfestival Berlin.
Nikolaus Hanjohr-Popa | Nikolaus Hanjohr-Popa, born in 1969 in Budapest, began to play the cello at the age of 7 years. He studied with Peter Wöpke (bay. Staatsoper), at the Academy of Music in Munich with Professor Reiner Ginzel and with Professor Miklos Perenyi at the Franz Liszt Academy Budapest. He has won prizes at the International Music Competition "Carl Maria von Weber" and won the "Grand Prize of the Concert Society Munich". He was also a finalist at the International Music Competition of the ARD. Concerts as a soloist and chamber musician have taken him throughout Europe and Asia. Since 1996 he has been assistant Principal Cellist at the Staatsoper Unter den Linden in Berlin under Daniel Barenboim.
